Artist Biography:
Eva Weingarten, 21, was born and raised in Winter Park, FL. Her passion for life shows through her performance in music, lively spirit, and Catholic faith. Eva began seriously painting in 2016. Her first piece, “She is Happy” was featured in 2018 at Waging Peace, a special exhibit at the Florida State University Museum of Fine Art. Artist Statement:
My work comes from a subconscious and spiritual place. When I go to create, I never know what my art will become. I am not bound by overthinking. I put no guidelines, rules, or timelines on my pieces and in return, they are able to breathe and take on a life of their own. I always feel free while I am creating! The subjects of many of my pieces are Catholic; my goal is to start a resurgence of modern Christian/Catholic art.
An example of a commission piece I did for an adorable set of twins’ nursery! Each baby’s initials are in the dove’s heart, with a quote around the wings that reads', “Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark”.
